Food Recipes Of Red Velvet cake








The red velvet cake seems to have beaten all other varieties a while ago. 


Food Recipes The crimson and white dessert not only makes for an appetising picture but it tastes that way too. Red velvet can be made into cookies, dessert cakes and cupcakes too! While you can make this cake with a healthy twist - like with beetroot that can give it a deep, red colouring - this recipe has is the traditional style which is popular every where.

Ingredients: 
Sponge
Butter, unsalted - 225 g
Castor sugar - 350 g
Whole eggs - 3
Refined flour - 350 g
Cocoa powder - 40 g
Baking powder - 10 g
Red colour - 5 g
Butter milk - 250 g
Vinegar - 5 g
Vanilla extract - a few drops

For the frosting
Cream cheese - 100 g
Fresh cream - 100 ml
White chocolate (melted) - 100 g
Strawberry compote - 50 g

Method:

For the Sponge
Cream butter and sugar till fluffy. Add the whole eggs slowly followed by the dry ingredients. Bake at 170 c

For the Frosting

Whip the cream cheese until fluffy, add the fresh cream. Add the melted chocolate.
Plate with strawberry compote. Enjoy chilled.

Important icing tips!
Most people prefer the light and fluffy butter roux icing but you may use cream cheese if you're not watching the weighing scales too much.
